Joseph Thomas is a writer, speaker, comedian, educator, and 5th-generation funeral director and embalmer living in Memphis, Tennessee with his wife (Natalie), their three kids, and one dog.

He is a gifted speaker and storyteller who brings laughter into any and every subject, even traditionally sad ones like death and grief, a performer with Memphis, Tennessee’s own improv and sketch troupe, The Bluff City Liars, and a contributor for a variety of publications including humor sites and actual, real-life newspapers. Earlier in life, he created and hosted Catfish and Comedy (2015-2016)–a short-lived fish fry and comedy show that successfully brought legitimate, touring, professional stand-up comics and improvisers to his tiny hometown of Savannah, Tennessee and made him the topic of discussion at local Ministerial Association meetings for the subsequent months–something he’s still quite proud of but that ultimately led him to want to move away.

With his background in funeral service, Joseph is clearly a blast at parties and an expert at letting people believe they’re the first to ever say, “I bet people are dying to come see you!” He’s nothing if not polite.
